I am an award-winning British foreign correspondent based in Istanbul, reporting across Turkey and the wider Middle East.

My work focuses on conflict, politics, humanitarian crises and foreign affairs, with reporting from Türkiye, Syria, Iraq, Iran, South Sudan and Cambodia.

As a contributing correspondent with Noosphere and regular reporter for The Sunday Times, I report on the political and humanitarian stories shaping the region. My journalism has been recognised with a Gold award in International Affairs at the MHP 30 Under 30 Journalism Awards, alongside a nomination for Young Journalist of the Year at the Society of Editors' Media Freedom Awards.

My recent reporting includes coverage from Iraqi Kurdistan during the Iran-Israel war, Turkey’s border with Iran, multiple reporting trips across post-Assad Syria, the tenth anniversary of the Yazidi genocide in northern Iraq, refugee communities near the South Sudan-Sudan border and humanitarian demining operations in Cambodia.

I have delivered live analysis and field reporting for Sky News, Times Radio and Monocle Radio, voiced reports for BBC World Service and produced flagship international news programmes at the BBC.

Before relocating to Istanbul, I spent four years working across national newsrooms in London, including as the first World News Reporter at the Daily Mirror and as a regular freelance journalist with BBC News.

Much of that time was spent inside the pace of breaking news — responding live as stories unfolded, switching between platforms and explaining fast-moving events clearly for online audiences.

While my breaking-news background taught me to think on my feet, my foreign reporting is slower by design, shaped by time on the ground and an interest in people and how global events are lived.

I am Hostile Environment and Emergency First Aid (HEFAT) trained and currently learning Turkish.
