I am an award-winning British foreign correspondent, producer and broadcaster based in Istanbul, reporting across the Middle East and beyond.

I am a regular reporter for The Sunday Times, covering conflict, politics, displacement and humanitarian crises, with a focus on telling major international stories through the people living them.

This year, I have covered the Iran war across the region — from Turkey’s border with Iran and Iraq under drone fire, to its impact in Jordan — as well as reporting on Iran’s leadership and use of executions.

I have reported extensively from Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad, travelling across the country on repeated reporting trips, including just months after his regime collapsed and again for the first anniversary. I have covered the transition and legacy of the Assad era, including the historic first trial this year inside Syria of a former regime official accused of war crimes.

In Afghanistan, I have reported under Taliban rule on the deepening humanitarian crisis and restrictions on women and girls. My other field reporting has taken me to southern Lebanon just miles from Israeli-held territory, the Sudan-South Sudan border and minefields in Cambodia.

I have delivered live analysis and field reporting for Sky News, Times Radio and Monocle Radio, voiced reports for BBC World Service and produced flagship international news programmes at the BBC.

Before relocating to Istanbul, I spent four years across national newsrooms in London, including as the Daily Mirror’s first World News Reporter and as a regular freelance journalist with BBC News.

Much of that time was spent inside the pace of breaking news — responding live as stories unfolded, switching between platforms and explaining fast-moving events clearly for online audiences.

While my breaking-news background taught me to think on my feet, my foreign reporting is slower by design, shaped by time on the ground and an interest in people and how global events are lived.

My journalism was Highly Commended in Foreign Affairs at the 2026 MHP 30 To Watch Journalism Awards, after winning Gold in 2025. I have also been nominated for Young Journalist of the Year at the Society of Editors’ Media Freedom Awards in both 2025 and 2026.

I am Hostile Environment and Emergency First Aid (HEFAT) trained and currently learning Turkish.
